Message for that so-called bolt-on friendliness is:

  • critical parts are stacked like dominos on top of one another.
  • For any hope of rigidity in this system, the injectors must be clamped down and used as a structural part of this arrangement. This forces the injectors into direct metal to metal contact with the plenum adapters which are are in direct contact with the lower plenum (unecessary heat is conducted into the injectors) and also places strain onto the injector body via the clip. Injectors should be allowed to float within the confines of the fuel rail and the plenum bung, not be used as a stressed member.
  • With the plenum adapters being a loose installation, boost pressure acts upon them and the resulting force is transmitted to the injectors increasing the strain placed upon them to maintain system rigidity.
  • The plenum adapters place the point of injection higher than a stock injector, potentially masking the spray pattern of the injectors.
  • You are required to grind your upper plenum for clearance (mine need clearance too, but at least I offer this as a low-cost service - aka "bolt-on friendly").
